Building a Resilient Spanish-Style Sanctuary in Altadena

We are rebuilding our dream home in the Marathon Heights community of Altadena following the Eaton Fire. Our vision is a refined Spanish-style residence that blends classic architectural elements with modern efficiency and resilience.

The project consists of:

Main House: 1,822 SF

Attached JADU: 394

Guest House: 350 SF

Garage: 451 SF

Architecturally, the home will feature clay tile roofing, exterior cement plaster (stucco) with a light sand finish. The interior is designed for comfort and character, featuring a gas insert fireplace, vaulted ceilings in the living room, and high-quality wood baseboards and trim throughout. Because our property is in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone, fire safety is integrated into every detail.

The Ideal Builder:

We are looking for a highly skilled General Contractor who treats this project with the precision and care a fire-rebuild deserves. Our ideal partner possesses:

-Expertise in Spanish Architecture: Proven experience working with clay tile systems, authentic stucco applications, and delicate architectural details like arched windows and custom built-ins.

-LA County Experience: A builder who is intimately familiar with Los Angeles County Department of Public Works protocols and understands the local permitting process for Eaton Fire survivors.

-Meticulous Coordination: A professional who can collaborate seamlessly with our design team, and manage rigorous inspection schedules, including structural observations.

-Quality Commitment: A builder who stands by their work with a comprehensive written guarantee and follows strict Best Management Practices to protect our site and our neighbors’ properties during construction.
