Jane’s Cottage Rebuild - Builder with Heart and Craft Wanted

Main House 1,561 sf

Garage 413 sf

I’m a homeowner preparing to rebuild after fire loss and am seeking experienced builders who understand Altadena, its history, and the care required to rebuild thoughtfully in this community.

The design is a Jane’s Cottage inspired home. Warm in character and grounded in traditional forms. The goal is not to overbuild, but to create a home that feels timeless, neighborly, and true to Altadena’s architectural language.

This is a like-for-like rebuild of approximately 1,460 SF, with a detached two-car garage, outdoor living spaces, and careful site planning. The project is currently at the schematic design stage. I’m working with Altadena Collective and am looking to identify the right builder early. I am looking for someone who can collaborate through design development and provide input. Experience working alongside designers and contributing thoughtful, real-world insights as plans are refined is important to me.

I value:

* Craftsmanship and attention to architectural detail

* Clear communication and realistic scheduling

* Experience building in fire-affected areas

* Respect for budget, neighbors, and the permitting process

If you are a builder who takes pride in doing things the right way and understands that rebuilding here is about more than just construction, I’d love to be considered for your bid.
